GRIT – Grounded Resilient Inspired Tenacious

Often times we are in some kind of transition in life. We are looking to get to the next step in #life. Bridging the gap from where you are and where you want to be requires grit.

Do you have grit? What is #grit? If you look at the word GRIT as an acronym you can say grounded, resilient, inspired and tenacious. In order to have grit, you have to be #grounded. You have to have a strong #foundation that you can rely on. To be grounded you have to have some sort of logic and #commonsense. To have a majestic tree of knowledge you have to have strong roots that have burrowed deep into the earth. You have to have a strong base #knowledge to tap into. First that strong foundation then you can build.

How #resilient are you? Do you break under pressure or do you bend like the reed? Are you able to spring back when you’ve been #compressed? You have to be able to bounce back and #persevere no matter what the #challenge or obstacle is. To be resilient means that you always keep on pressing and keep coming back. To be resilient means that you’re not a quitter and you continue to search for options and solutions.

To have grit, you have to be inspired. You must have some kind of Guiding Light to direct you and motivate you. You have to have some idea what true north means to you. You have to have a #vision of where you’re going with some clear set #goals. You should be #passionate about your goals and #excited about getting them #accomplished. This is what it means to be inspired. You should try and relate to other people that have attained similar goals that you would like to accomplish. You can learn and pick up subtle attributes from these people. As you surround yourself with people that have accomplished similar goals, you will learn and become adept at the #skills that you need to get to your goals.

Putting it all together means never accepting no as the final answer. Understanding that there’s nothing wrong with falling down as long as you keep getting back up. Knowing that failure is not the end but each time you fail is just another stepping stone that leads you to #success. This is what being tenacious is all about. Being tenacious does not mean that you are being rude. It means that you are being patient, #resourceful and able to #adapttosituations.

So what is grit? What does it mean to you? Do you have it?
